4WD electrical
Canopy wiring, Anderson plugs, fuse boxes and accessory circuits – planned properly and built to handle corrugations, dust and water.
Built for the track, wired for the long run
Most 4WD electrical problems come from the same few shortcuts: undersized cable, missing fuses, cheap terminals and wiring that isn’t secured. They tend to show up a long way from home.
We plan each circuit around what it powers and how far the cable runs, protect it at the source and secure it properly. Circuits are labelled so you – or the next auto electrician – can follow them.
What we wire
Canopy wiring
Lighting, outlets, fridge power and switching inside your canopy, run from a protected supply and fused at the source.
Anderson plugs
Rear bar, tub or canopy Anderson connections for battery boxes, trailers and caravans, with cable sized to the load.
Accessory wiring
Compressors, UHF radios, inverters (12V side) and other accessories wired on their own fused circuits.
Fuse boxes
Dedicated fuse blocks so every accessory circuit is protected and easy to find on the side of the road.
Power distribution
Bus bars, isolators and distribution panels that keep your system organised as you add to it.
Touring electrical
Complete systems planned around how you travel – battery, charging, distribution and outlets working together.
Also available
Dual battery systems
Auxiliary power with DC-DC charging – see Dual Battery & Power.
Driving lights
Wired to switch with your high beam – see Driving Lights.
Switch panels
Accessory switches positioned where you can reach them.
USB & 12V outlets
Charging points in the cabin, tub or canopy.
Fridge power
Dedicated, correctly sized fridge circuits.
UHF radio wiring
Clean power and antenna routing for your UHF.
Done properly, not just done
- Cable sized for the loadCurrent draw and run length determine cable size, not guesswork.
- Every circuit fusedProtection at the source, so a fault doesn’t become a fire.
- Quality terminals and heatshrinkConnections that survive vibration and moisture.
- Loomed, clipped and labelledTidy, secure and easy to trace later.
Start with how you travel
Weekend trips or months on the road? Fridge, lights, compressor, inverter? How you use the vehicle decides cable sizes, fusing and whether you need a dual battery system. Tell us what you run and we’ll plan around it.

Common questions
Can you wire my canopy lights and outlets?
Yes. We’ll plan the supply, fusing and switching for your canopy and route the cabling neatly from the vehicle.
What size Anderson plug do I need?
It depends on what’s connected and how much current it draws. We size the plug and cable to suit the load and the length of the run.
Can you add to my existing setup?
Usually. We’ll check the existing wiring first – if anything is unsafe or undersized, we’ll tell you before adding to it.
Do you install inverters and 240V outlets?
We can wire inverters on the 12V side. Any fixed 240V wiring must be done by a licensed electrician.
